STC Houston Program Meetings and Webinars
STC Houston provides various education events throughout the year. These events include program meetings and webinars. We may also hold Lunch and Learn sessions as time permits. The program meetings provide both networking and educational opportunities.
From September through June, STC Houston provides an active calendar of education events. July and August tend to be quiet months as many members are on vacation and focused on time with their families.
Program Meeting Locations
For the 2011-2012 program year, we will meet at the American Red Cross, 2700 Southwest Freeway, for most of our program meetings.
Program Meeting Dates, Times, and Schedule
Program meetings are often held on the second Tuesday of the month.
- 5:30pm-6:15pm – Networking
- 6:15pm-7:15pm – Presentation
- 7:30pm+ – Optional social gathering following the meeting. Those who are interested meet at a local restaurant for a social meal with our speaker of the evening, as time and schedules permit.
Individual Program Meeting Prices
- STC Houston Members and Students: $15
- Non-Members: $25
Multi-Meeting Programs Package
STC Houston is offering a 6-Meeting programming package. This year, we are offering an EXTRA program meeting in the programs package. So if you buy the package, you get 7 meetings at the usual 6-meeting package price. You can pay for the package online via Paypal or at the program meeting when you arrive.

Our Next Meeting
It’s that time of year again, when we honor the many talented members of our profession for excellence in technical communication. Come join your peers to help them celebrate their achievements and enjoy their success.
On Tuesday, February 21 the STC Houston chapter is hosting the 2012 Awards Showcase for all the award winners in our annual competition, including a Best of Show honoree. February 21 is also the first day of Mardi Gras, so our event will have a Mardi Gras theme and include appetizers, the awards showcase, and a dynamic and entertaining guest speaker.
The showcase will take place at the American Red Cross, the same location as our monthly meetings, from 5:30 – 8:30.
Tickets for the event are $25 for STC Houston members and $30 for non-members. You can pay in advance here on the STC Houston web site or pay at the door the night of the event.
So, come in your Mardi Gras best and have some fun celebrating!
